Jeffrey!

Jeffrey is hands down the most hyper kid in the whole club. He’s also one of the youngest. I remember the first time I met him was at the old location, and one of the teacher’s grabbed me and said, “Por favor, get Jeffrey to sit down he just ran out of the class.” He hasn’t changed much; a year later and I’m still always chasing him to sit down. He just has so much energy and has a really hard time staying focused. Nonetheless, he’s always smiling and just trying to have fun and you just end up having fun seeing him all smiles. His sister is Stefania.

July - Jeffrey!

Wow!

What a wonderful summer we've had! And we aren't even halfway through July yet. We're so amazed at everything God has done thus far this summer in the life of the club, and we can't wait to see what else is in store. We've added more time at the club, being in session 5 days a week, the addition of new classes, more and more teachers, and volunteers from all over the place! The kids are loving spending so much time in the club and we're loving it even more:)

June - Stefany!

Hola! Wow, we've already into July and it feels like the summer has only just begun! Where has the time gone? We've been having such a great summer spending so much time with the kids from adding more days of classes, to adding new classes altogether, to expanding pre-existing classes, we've had a busy past month and a half! Everyone is really enjoying our new summer schedule and we're really excited to see what the future holds! Here is a picture of Stefany just hanging out at the club after class one day, showing off her newest origami class! The kids really love all the classes we're offering this summer and we love teaching them! Happy summering:)

Jeffrey and Stephany's Mom was at the Center one day with the Girls Club, helping to teach the girls how to use this newly donated toy that paints nails!

Halloween

Dove was able to get a huge donation of Halloween costumes and threw a giant party for the kids on the afternoon of Halloween, during Saturday Boys and Girls Club. The kids, as you can see, had a blast!

Here is little miss Stefany, modeling her new hair pom poms that one of the mothers is making.

School Starts

School starts in the Dominican Republic at the end of August. Children attend school either in the morning or the afternoon- not for full days, like we do in Canada and the United States. Both kids were provided with school uniforms courtesy of Dove Missions.

More About Them...

Written by a volunteer, Crystal Fox: I think that anyone who has been a volunteer with Dove recently, knows that you spend more time chasing Jeffrey and Stefany around then you do working with or teaching them :)They are both very young and have had a rough time at home, as their dad has been in prison for a crime his brother commited.Coming to the club allows them to just be kids and have fun.

Pool Party!

Liz, along with Jencen and Jenny (two Canadian volunteers in the DR for 2 weeks) took the girls of the Girls Club to a pool party! Little Stefany was excited to get to parcipate in this fun field trip with all the girls!
